I love how Felix put so much thought in his superhero name choosing "Argos" to reconnect it to the Argonauts, the army commanded by Jason, Hera's favourite hero. Hera, the Queen of the Gods, Mother of the Gods, whose symbolic animal was the peacock. So he literally presented himself as the hero of the creatures made with the power of the peacock because his whole intention in getting the miraculous was to protect the sentibeings created with it instead of seeing them being abused and exploited by others, and to be seen as herald in front of those who wanted to stop him.

And then we see the other heroes' names and they're like "Okay so the white rabbit is called Bunny(x), that purple tigress there is Purple Tigress and the black cat is called - wait for it - Black Cat"

Adrien blinked at Bunnyx, where she stood at the entrance to the living room. An akuma? Now?

Marinette disentangled herself from Hugo. ‘Already?’

Bunnyx tapped her chin. ‘Well…that depends on your definition of already.’

Ugh, time travel.

But it was so soon. They’d only finished fighting Monsieur Rat maybe an hour ago – and now Hugo had just told them…told them….

Lila used him. She preyed on him like a mantis, then left him in pieces. Stole his heart, then stole the butterfly. Stole information about his parents.

His hands were already in fists again – but his anger came to a shuddering halt when he took in the look on Marinette’s face. All the blood had drained from her skin, her eyes locked on Bunnyx, some private conversation being held without words.

Understanding slammed into him like a truck.

This wasn’t just an akuma. This was the akuma – the one they’d been waiting for but hoping would never come – the one that brought about that terrible future Marinette had carried in her head for so long.

‘It’s happening, isn’t it.’ Her voice was small and low.

Bunnyx pursed her lips…then gave a slow nod.

‘Oh god, I –’ Her knees wobbled.

Adrien darted across the room, catching her before she could fall to the floor. ‘Marinette –’

‘This is it, Adrien. This is it. This is how it begins.’

Why it was easier for her in “Cat Blanc” and “Ephemeral”

After I posted my “She doesnt feel good enough” post(read here) , I realized there was going to be a bit of confusion in the fandom over the events of “Cat Blanc” when Marinette was able to reciprocate Adriens feelings much easier than what we have seen after “Transmission”.

To clarify, the events of Cat Blanc’s timeline, were not meant to exist, it was the result of a time anomaly(Ladybug writing her name on the gift). Everything that occurred in this timeline was never supposed to happen, choices that the characters made were never meant to exist and circumstances that originally plagued the characters to restrain them from taking certain actions, did not occur, which is why Bunnyx had to intervene in order to restore the time stream to its original course.

(These events were not supposed to happen.)

Things in “Ephemeral” were also different as these events primarily revolved around Marinette coming to terms with Adrien’s identity as Cat Noir, rather than just facing Adrien.

Marinette and Adrien knew each others secret identities in both “Cat Blanc” and “Ephemeral” near the end, helping them realize that no matter what struggles they faced, they were already always there for each other, making it easier for Marinette to reciprocate her feelings as she now realized that what they had was real from the very start and nothing to be afraid of.

But as civilians who do not know each others identities, things are different. Marinette loves Adrien, but because she is not aware of how much Adrien has already been there for her as Cat Noir after the events of “Transmission”, something within Marinette is struggling in believing that what she has with just Adrien is genuine and can be taken to the next step to be an official couple with nothing to worry .

why jalil kubdel was the ideal candidate for a second hawkmoth 

in his focus episode we already know he was drawn to a spell to bring back to dead for some reason [looks at the mother shaped hole in the kubdel family]

he’s an archaeology student who would have the resources and know-how to investigate the miraculouses

hates ladybug because her war took away his little sister (and even if it’s technically hawkmoth’s fault, alix still had to go on the run because ladybug lost the miracle box). yes i know reunion technically resolved their issues but i think he should have still had a bone to pick with ladybug for putting her in this situation in the first place

strikes a really interesting balance between “realistically compelling” (his dad neglected him emotionally in favor of his golden child sister, possibly dead mom, and now the only family member that loves him has been taken away from him) and “frustratingly immature” (get the fuck over yourself and go to therapy for your daddy issues, dude) that i think works really well in a lot of villains

would have a different motivation from gabriel hawkmoth, opening the doors to new stories. in my mind, he would take up the hawkmoth mantle not because he wants the wish necessarily but because he wants ladybug and chat noir to give up their mantle as heroes, thinking that if all miraculous use ceased, the world would be a better place and his sister could come home. also maybe he can be nice to nooroo can we have that

would be an excellent case of a tragic self fulfilling prophecy. as we’ve seen before, family members wielding miraculouses at the same time only leads to disaster. even if alix tried to come out of the burrow and convince jalil face to face that the world needs ladybug, i think it would have resulted in some kind of world-ending fight or time paradox, forcing her to not intervene and watch her brother go down the rabbit hole into spiteful rage

THEYRE BESTIESSS,, and even in the band sometimes Luka improvs and no one else really likes it when he does that except her so they get along really well!!

And since their powers are both time-related, they don’t really take anything serious since they can just, go back and fix it ahehfeheihs

PREVIEW:

De-transformed, Marinette opened the front door to their apartment, Adrien at her side. If she’d been asked what she expected to find on returning home from London, Bunnyx and Hugo watching re-runs of Inuyasha at nigh on three in the morning would not have featured on her list.

‘Oh, hey, guys!’ Bunnyx waved at them.

Marinette put up a hand in return, while Adrien shut the door behind them. Plagg and Tikki flew out and joined Bunnyx and Hugo on the sofa. Hugo kept his eyes on the TV, like he hadn’t yet worked out how he should act around all this…stuff.

Bunnyx glanced at the screen, where Kagome was frantically trying to keep her friends from finding out her boyfriend was a half-demon from another era…then threw Marinette a look of apology. ‘Sorry if there was meant to be a bedtime. I figured he’s already fourteen, plus it’s been a long day, so….’

‘No, it’s…it’s fine.’ A beat too late, she looked at Adrien, hoping he agreed. He was watching the TV, too. Maybe relating to Inuyasha.

‘Was your conversation with Felix productive?’ Bunnyx asked.

‘I…think so.’ Actually, it was hard to say. They were no further than they were before they left for London – but at least she didn’t have to worry about Felix’s safety. If anything happened to him…and because she had kept the miracle box….

A vision consumed her mind, of fingers snapping and Felix poofing right out of existence – followed by the usual replay of all the sentibeings she’d sent to their doom…the replay that still sometimes kept her up at night, even now.

Her blood ran cold, as it always did when the memories hit her. Guilt squeezed her lungs. This wasn’t just Adrien’s secret to keep. This was hers. Hugo had a right to judge her, too.

Adrien let out a heavy breath that belied how exhausted he was. ‘I need tea.’

When he stalked off to the kitchen, something in her chest loosened. Thank god. Him and his unnatural obsession with tea. At least that was one thing that hadn’t changed.

She chewed on her lip, glancing at Bunnyx for…support? Answers? She was younger than them…but in a way, she was older. A kind of mentor simply for having lived in so many eras.

Bunnyx smiled and nodded, her eyes saying, Go on. Go talk to him.
